Position Overview/Responsibilities for the HR Operations Specialist I:

 

– Serve as a primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries, handling phone calls and tickets with professionalism and efficiency

– Advise managers and employees on state and federal employment regulations, collective agreements, benefit and compensation policies, personnel procedures, and classification programs

– Evaluate job positions, determining classification, exempt or non-exempt status, and salary

– Assist in preparing and maintaining personnel records and handbooks

– Prepare reports to summarize job analysis, evaluation, and compensation analysis information

– This is a contract position through 3/30 with potential for extension

 

Required Skills for HR Operations Specialist I:

 

– Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

– 1-2 years of customer service-related and HR experience

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service, and interpersonal skills

– Ability to work independently and manage one’s time effectively

– Knowledge of legal policies and procedures related to hiring practices

– Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

– Familiarity with Workday, Zendesk, and/or Five9 is a plus
