Phlebotomist,Lab Department
Job Type:PRN,VariableShift

Performs a range of clerical duties related to the support of operations of the unit including updating and organizing information on the unit; coordinating work within the unit and with other units and departments; reporting relevant information to the supervisor; and responding to inquiries and requests from patients,visitorsand caregivers.

Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:
* Labels,processesand delivers specimens for testing.
* Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
* Maintains equipment and medical supplies.
* Assistswith receiving,identifying, accessioning,processingand transporting specimens
* Maintainsadequatestock of supplies.
* Maintains work area in a safe,asepticand organized manner.
* Performs clerical duties including answering phones, data entry, and filing.
* Communicatestest resultstoappropriate healthcareproviders.

Minimum EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent is required
Successful completion of Phlebotomy training program is preferred

Required SkillsPhlebotomy Certification is preferred
